Duke Clinical Research - Oncology

The Duke Clinical Research - Oncology (DCRO) combines the academic leadership, clinical research expertise, and resources of one of the world’s premier cancer centers with the full-service operational capabilities of the world’s largest academic research organization. Created through a partnership between the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Duke Clinical Research Institute, the DCRO is capable of conducting and coordinating any oncology clinical research project—from the smallest pilot study to global mega-trials, and from medical device trials to outcomes and quality-of-life analyses.

With more than 25,000 new patients diagnosed and treated for cancer at Duke and its affiliates each year, Duke has demonstrated its success as a network for oncology clinical trials. The Cancer Center partners with these affiliate hospitals and private practices through the Duke Oncology network. Duke patients represent virtually every county in North Carolina and nearly every state in the nation.
