The Stem Cell Laboratory is affiliated with both the Pediatric and Adult Stem Cell Transplant Programs at Duke University Medical Center as well as with the Carolina's Cord Blood Bank. The laboratory is physically located at 2400 Pratt Street, Suite 1300, PO Box 3350, DUMC, Durham, NC 27705. The laboratory is open 7 days/week for limited testing, but routinely offers the following testing Monday-Friday (0700 - 23:30):

General hematology, chemistry, and urinalysis testing
Flow Cytometry analysis
Progenitor Cell assays
Processing and storage of transplant products to include: bone marrow, peripheral blood progenitor cells (PBPCs), etc.
Processing and storage of umbilical cord blood (UCB) units to be banked and used for designated transplant candidates once a UCB unit has been identified in the cord blood registry.
Ex-vivo cell expansion of UCB, etc. using the Aastrom Replicell System.
CD34 selection procedures using the Isolex 300i system for PBPCs, etc.
T-depletion of PBPCs, UCB, etc, using campath-1H.
....other specialized testing as deemed necessary by the medical directors.
