Research Statement
Progress in developing acceptable prevention agents is currently limited because we lack an understanding of the early molecular events in mammary carcinogenesis. In order to accelerate the development of effective prevention strategies my research aims to:
- define signal-transduction pathways that promote the elimination of damaged mammary epithelial cells
- understand how these pathways become dysregulated in early mammary carcinogenesis. Our long-term goals are to identify novel targets for breast cancer chemoprevention and develop biomarkers that accurately predict response.
